In God Trust
Fleta R. Robinson
The coin was old. Its appearance was very worn and discolored. It looked as if it might have fallen into a can of dark paint in some distant past. I looked it over carefully. In God Trust was legible. Not the usual announcement or declaration of In God We Trust, but rather the “we” was obliterated leaving one simple instruction: In God Trust.
What a message! And certainly in God’s timing. Immediately several issues came to mind that at times are almost overwhelming. I was tempted to feel swallowed whole regarding each of these concerns – but this simple statement on an old coin said In God Trust! Thank you, Heavenly Father. I needed that.
Have you ever felt problems stare you in the face, and knowing that whatever worthwhile action was taken would be misunderstood? Take heart, In God Trust.
Have you ever been accused about something that wasn’t even an issue or an option, but another thought it was true? Again, take heart and In God Trust.
Have you ever felt ineffective, taken
for granted, or ignored? Who hasn’t?! Look up to the “author and
finisher of our faith”* – and In God Trust.
Wow! I really got my money’s worth from THAT coin!
Thank you, Heavenly Father.
