"This is the day . . ."

The circumstances of the day came tumbling in like building blocks. The “building material” seemed inappropriate in timing. It was as if a finished door was installed before the wall was built. The “chimney bricks” seemed to demand assembly before preparation was completed.
Lord, how do I respond to the pressures of this day – start this, start that – rush here, rush there – drop this, do that??
“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” (Isaiah
Accept the interruptions. Sometimes they are God’s gifts.
But I was heading for a Bible Study when they drove in.
Oh. I didn’t know.
Sometimes you do the “nice” rather than the necessary.
But those beautiful flowers are beginning to wilt NOW. Can’t the vacuuming wait one more day?
“As your days so shall your strength be.” (Deuteronomy 33:25)
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your love and amazing grace. I trust you for guidance and help.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because He trusteth in Thee” (Isaiah 26:3)
Thank you, Lord, for your faithful mercy. I’ll stay home today. With your help I’ll accomplish what I should.
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24)
