Take a moment to visualize in your mind – a pitcher.
What does it look like?
– a ceramic jug with milk in it?
– a little pitcher of cream?
– Grandmother’s crystal?
– the big blue plastic one in the ‘fridge?
– a silver pitcher?
– a tall, slender white one?
Is it in active use? Or is it instead shelved, but available if needed?
If the pitcher represented your own person what is in it?
Are the contents totally available to the dear Lord to use as He chooses? May God dispose of contents incompatible with HIS purpose, and cleanse away all impurities?
May He grasp the handle whenever He desires and pour our the contents to benefit whomever He chooses?
Is there hesitation? He can be trusted! The secret is simply this: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” *
