Blue Monday? No, it was green and full of grace and glory.
November was coming to a close. The MMAP* couples disconnected their RVs from the utility hook-ups and headed to either their next project, or to their families for Thanksgiving. These retired couples had volunteered their time and skills here at Buffalo Ridge. Floors, walls, roof, plumbing, electrical work – these were some of the good tracks they left behind.
It seemed right, the proper thing to do, to order building supplies when seven men – true volunteers – were here ready to work. Their camaraderie, the spiritual fellowship – what a bonus!
The ordered supplies had been delivered and hammered into place. The two-bedroom farm house that had been donated to His Way Ministries (and moved to Buffalo Ridge from several miles away) would someday have more guest rooms, meeting/eating space, a kitchen. It was a long way from completed, but much was accomplished. The goal was in sight!
Then the bills came. The money didn’t. None. Not any. We continued to pray.
Monday, December 4, Focus on the Family aired a broadcast about trust. It ministered to me from my kitchen radio as I readied for guests. The same broadcast ministered to Lauri (His Way secretary) in her car as she cared for multiple errands. Unknown to one another we each allowed the dear Lord to calm any anxiety and "what if" questions, and to strengthen our TRUST in Him.
Before noon, Lauri came home looking peacefully excited; no, she was excitedly peaceful!! Something had happened.
Except for salaries, enough money had come in to pay all those bills! Not any less. Not any more. We thanked the dear Lord, and those who had given.
America’s coins and "green backs" say "In God We Trust". (Oh, that all in our country would truly do that.) I cannot make that happen in others, but I can allow Sovereign God to fill my heart and life with trust in Him, and pray to be contagious!
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
Yes, our "green" Monday was full of grace and glory, as well as trust for the next day’s needs and those back salaries.
