Air Conditioning, Prayer Conditioning
by Fleta R. Robinson
Ah! This wonderful "condition" is filling our little home in the 100B + Kansas summer.
We donít have to reminisce very long, or about very long ago, to be aware of Ė to truly appreciate Ė this wonderful current blessing called air-conditioning.
Sometimes it is the difference between feeling disabled and feeling enabled.
Iíve lived more years without air-conditioning than with it. It is a luxury, not an actual "gottahave." I thank God for its comfort, but am well aware it is not one of lifeís necessities.

There is another condition that is far more important. It is being in communication with our Creator, Sovereign God. Prayer, (talking with God) can prepare us for Heaven, and for productive living here on earth.
"If My people which are called by My name, shall humble themselves
(But donít we love to "look good"; to tell of our accomplishments)
Not prayer habits or "formulas" divorced from God, but simply, sincerely talking to God.
and seek My face
Ė but we spend precious seeking time seeking solutions for inconveniences, asking for things, wanting relief from difficult situations, rather than seeking His face, His way, His help.
and turn from their wicked ways;
Well, I donít "cuss," steal or lie. Iíve never murdered anyone. I . . . and the self-righteous list goes on and on. But am I slothful, indifferent, apathetic, fearful, wasteful? Do I sometimes cut someone down, when Godís plan is to lift up, to build others up?
and then will I hear from Heaven
(What a marvelous source!)
and forgive their sin,
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness."*
"Submit yourselves to God; resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
and will heal their land."Ü
Not just drought stricken acreage, but, oh, how our nation needs the healing touch of God. The immorality; the killing of thousands of babies daily by abortion; not only the tolerance of evil, but its active promotion, these bring grief to the heart of God.
" . . . show me the path of life; in Thy Presence of fullness of joy . . ."ÜÜ
Now thatís a condition in which we can thrive!
